The new Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 was unveiled to the large audience at the beginning of 2014. After a successful year where Samsung launched two cameras, the Galaxy NX and the Galaxy Zoom, the company surprised everyone with the successor of their first Galaxy Camera.

The biggest thing that bothered users about these handsets was the small internal storage of only 8 GB. The worst part is that only 2.8 GB of RAM memory are available for pictures and videos. However, the company tried to solve this problem by incorporating a microSD slot card which is meant to increase the memory space.

Although creating a bigger memory by using internal storage seemed to be a better option, the people who rely on the quality of the pictures seem to be fine with this choice. The only disadvantage the microSD cards have is that they are very small and they can be easily lost.

The processor of the new Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 has been improved, so it delivers a better quality of the pictures than its predecessor. The 1.6 GHz Quad-Core processor makes this device the best Android Camera released by this brand. The camera can experience some delays when it’s put on stress, but the new model has some great properties that will make you forget about this issue. It features a 16.3 actual MP 1/2.3 inch BSI CMOS with a great OIS Image Sensor. The sensor incorporates 21x Optical Zoom Lens with 23 mm Wide Angle.

The new Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 also impresses with a low weight, since its dimensions are 132.5 x 71.2 x 19.3 mm. So, the 283g handset has a great practical design. Its connectivity section impresses with a professional Accelerometer, a Gyro-sensor and Gyro-magnetic for GPS/GLONASS, OIS, and for the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth option.

The image format is JPEG while the video has many recording abilities, such as Full HD, MP4 and Multi Motion Video that offer many possibilities regarding the quality of the shots.
One of the most important improvements that will turn your experience to the next level is the Smart Mode because it gives the owner the possibility to adjust the camera’s settings before taking a picture. The user can choose between some of the following modes:

  • Beauty or best face;
  • Best photo;
  • Selfie Alarm;
  • Color bracket;
  • Landscape;
  • Sunset, Dawn and Night;
  • Snow;
  • Section freeze;
  • Continuous shot;
  • Sound&Shot;
  • Animated photo;
  • Party/Indoor;
  • Light trace;
  • Silhouette;
  • Fireworks, etc.
